Meet Ups
Meetings Don’t Have
A Rigid Structure
Group members are encouraged to take turns choosing topics and acting as facilitator at meetings. The only requirement for topics are that they are related to stuttering. We welcome approaches from those researching stuttering – please send us a copy of your ethical approval and set aside time to join us to explain your research. Zoom is fine if you are not based in Manchester.

"It was really nice and humbling to meet other stammerers and discovering that they had been going through the same things that I have, I felt connected"
Johnny started stuttering at a young age, after moving countries and changing his dominant language. Johnny joined the Manchester Stammering Community for the sense of community and enjoys the social element. Find out about Johnny’s full story below.
About The Group
“You automatically have a lot in common with other people who stutter. And the groups can be important for that reason.”
Meetings do not have a rigid structure, and group members are encouraged to take turns choosing topics and acting as facilitator at meetings.
